Peter Finnemore is an artist working within photographic art and video. Finnemore has since exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including representing Wales at the 51st Venice Biennale (2005). Finnemore is currently Researcher / Lecturer in Photography at Swansea Metropolitan University and Visiting Professor in Photography at the University of Derby. Recent major exhibitions include The Silent Village, Turner House, Penarth, Wales (2010), touring to DOX – Centre for Contemporary Art on Prauge and Oriel Mostyn in Llandudno in 2011.
His research is practice based and incorporates photography, digital media, video, performance, installation, writing, curatorship and the archive. He is best known for his ongoing 25 year long project which explores the home place as a site for creative enquiry. This has been exhibited in several forms including the exhibition and publication of Gwendraeth House (2000), Zen Gardener (2004), Veils and Voids (2010) and Everyday (The Silent Village 2010).
Finnemore lives and works in Llanelli, Wales.
