We are proud to announce O:4W v2.0 which will run from 25th September – 1st November.
The Outcasting: Fourth Wall Festival grew out of an awareness that more and more galleries were programming artists’ moving image work, but that there was no dedicated platform for this discipline in Wales, nor regular opportunities for public engagement and professional development around it.
The newly formed community interest company Fourth Wall . Pedwaredd Wal (4W) has been set up to promote existing activity within, and of interest to, Wales and to provide an access point for UK and international curators and Welsh audiences to this strand of activity.
To create a breadth of engagement with the public the festival will take place in public places and spaces – empty shops, parks, projections on buildings etc.
The main part of the festival will be a series of screenings and events, but there will also be longer installation setups around the city. New works will be commissioned and there will be some exclusively on-line content that will be featured on the Outcasting web site.
The festival aims to be collaborative to work with a wide range of partner organisations throughout Wales, while working with the festivals, exhibitions and cultural tourism initiatives in and around Cardiff during the festival period.
